This policy explains who we are, what QuickSeats actually does, what information we collect, how and why we use it, which third parties we work with, and your rights regarding any information you share with us.
We will use any personal information we collect about you in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018), the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUAA), and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). We aim to be clear when we handle your data, and not do anything you would not reasonably expect.

What QuickSeats is
QuickSeats is a search and listings tool that helps you find theatre and live performances near a location you choose. It brings together publicly available show listings from a number of theatres’ own ticketing systems into one search.
QuickSeats does not sell tickets, does not process ticket payments, and does not hold a customer account or booking history for you. When you choose to book a show, you are taken to that venue’s own website (or, for some venues, ATG’s ticketing site) to complete the booking there, under that venue’s own terms and privacy policy – see “Leaving our site to book a ticket” below.

Data protection complaints – how to raise a concern
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your personal data, you can raise a data protection complaint with us. This process applies only to concerns about personal data – other issues should be raised through our contact form. You don’t need to use legal language, just explain your concern. If you’re complaining on someone else’s behalf, please include proof that you’re authorised to act for them.

Information we collect
We collect the following information when you use our site:
Postcode or location you enter to search – used only to find nearby venues and calculate distances/drive times for that search. We do not ask for or need your name, address, or any other identifying detail to run a search.
Website usage data – standard technical information collected via cookies (see “Cookies” below), such as pages viewed and how you interact with the site.
Contact form submissions – if you contact us directly, we collect whatever you provide (typically your name, email address, and message) so we can reply.
We do not collect or store any information about ticket bookings or payments – that happens entirely on the venue’s or ATG’s own website once you leave our site, and is covered by their privacy policy, not this one.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, some of which are essential to the site working and some of which are only set with your consent. We use CookieYes to manage this – when you first visit, you’ll be shown a banner where you can choose which categories of cookies to allow. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie preferences link in the site footer.

Affiliate/referral tracking – if you click through to book a show at a participating venue, a cookie may be set (via our affiliate network, Partnerize) to record that the booking came from QuickSeats. This cookie does not tell us anything about what you booked or any payment details – see “Leaving our site to book a ticket” below.

How we use your data
We will use your information for the purposes listed below under one of the following lawful bases:
Performance of a contract (e.g. handling a contact form enquiry you’ve asked us to respond to)

Who we share data with
We share data with the following third parties, only as needed to provide the service described above:
postcodes.io – a free, UK-specific postcode lookup service. When you search, the postcode or location you entered is sent to postcodes.io to convert it into a map coordinate. postcodes.io does not receive any other information about you.
Google (Maps and, where applicable, AdSense) – powers the map view and, where enabled, on-site advertising. Google may process data outside the UK; Google’s own safeguards (including its standard contractual clauses) apply to this – see Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Partnerize – the affiliate network used to track referrals to participating venues (currently ATG). If you click a booking link, Partnerize may set a tracking cookie to record the referral; QuickSeats only receives confirmation that a referral was made, not any details of what was booked or paid.
CookieYes – manages cookie consent on our site; see CookieYes’s own privacy policy at https://www.cookieyes.com/privacy-policy/.
Our website hosting provider and standard WordPress plugins (e.g. our contact form) – used to run the site and handle enquiries you send us directly.
We may also disclose your personal information to third parties:
If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data to comply with any legal obligation.
To enforce or apply our terms of use, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ourselves or others.
If QuickSeats or substantially all its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data we hold would be one of the transferred assets.
Leaving our site to book a ticket
QuickSeats links out to the venue’s own website, or to ATG’s ticketing site, so you can book. Once you leave QuickSeats, any information you provide – your name, payment details, contact information, seat selection, anything – is collected and processed entirely by that venue or ticketing provider, under their own privacy policy, not ours. We’d encourage you to check the privacy policy of whichever site you book through. QuickSeats itself never sees or stores this information.
Keeping your data secure
We take reasonable precautions to protect any personal data you do share with us (for example, via the contact form), and keep the site’s software up to date. Access to any personal data we hold is limited to what’s needed to run the site and respond to enquiries.
How long we keep your data
We keep contact form enquiries only as long as needed to deal with your query, and any cookie data only for as long as set out in our Cookie Policy. We don’t hold any ongoing account or booking data about you, since we don’t process bookings ourselves.
Giving you control
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
